After a decade in London, 29-year-old Rona (Saoirse Ronan) returns home to the Orkney Islands. Sober but lonely, she tries to repress the memories of the events that led her to this journey of recovery. Little by little, the mystical land enters her inner world and, one day, Rona finds hope and strength within herself amidst the fierce wind and persistently cold sea.
